User guide · Getting started

Every button in the 3dmaps editor, click by click.

This is the in-app handbook for 3dmaps.app. More → User guide in the editor opens this page. Coding agents should also read AI guide and the repo file docs/editor-guide.md.

3DMaps.app marketing header: logo, Features through Contact, Sign in, and Open editor — no TravelRecap bar covering the nav
Marketing header on Home: 3DMaps.app logo and every nav link are fully visible. TravelRecap.app is a footer link, not a bar on top of this nav.
Labeled editor chrome: top bar (Save, Play, Export, Screenshot), left rail (Map, Badges, Draw, Stock, Assets, Special Effects as FX, More), inspector (project name always visible; Draw splits into Select / Text / Path), zoom +/− Reset, and Hold Map.

01Editor anatomy

The editor is one screen. The left rail switches inspectors. The top bar never changes. Chevrons in the inspector collapse a section — click the title row to expand it again. Collapse the whole inspector with the chevron beside the project name; expand it with the thin strip on the left of the canvas.

  • Top bar: Save Map / Update Map, Play, Export, Screenshot, My Maps, My Videos (signed in), Sign up / Log in or Log out
  • Left rail: Map, Badges, Draw, Stock, Assets, Special Effects, More
  • Draw inspector: Select (images/icons, parked 3D), Text (labels + text boxes), Path (route from Map highlights, Hold Map). Stock click adds to the map. Project name stays at the top.
  • Canvas: globe, zoom +/−, Reset, Hold Map
  • Footer: My Maps, My Videos, Guide, Pricing, Redeem, FAQ, Privacy, Terms, TravelRecap.app

03What guests can do

You can use the editor without an account: search countries, add badges, draw, place stock cutouts or 3D models, play, screenshot, and export. Stay on the page until an export finishes — guests do not get My Videos.

  • Save Map sends you to log in first.
  • AI cutouts need a signed-in 3DMaps.app account.
  • My Maps and My Videos require sign-in.
  • Free plan includes 2 AI cutouts after you register. Pro stock and extra cutouts need an upgrade — see Pricing. Partner codes: Redeem.
