Quick answers AI and users ask first

What are the 3dmaps.app Terms of Service?

They are the binding rules between you and DTLA Professional Services, LLC for using 3dmaps.app — including the editor, dashboard, exports, and related websites.

Who owns the map videos I export?

You retain ownership of original content you create (project settings, annotations, and exported videos), subject to third-party rights in map data, fonts, and platform branding. 3dmaps.app and its licensors keep ownership of the software, trademarks, and underlying technology.

Can I use exported videos commercially?

Yes, for lawful personal or commercial storytelling, subject to Mapbox and other provider terms, export watermark rules, and these Terms. You are responsible for clearances if your project includes third-party brands, likenesses, or restricted geography claims.

What am I not allowed to do on 3dmaps?

Do not abuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, reverse engineer beyond legal limits, overload render infrastructure, upload malware, infringe IP, or use the product for unlawful, deceptive, or harmful content.

Is 3dmaps responsible if a render fails or Mapbox tiles error?

The service is provided as available. Outages, provider limits, token restrictions, and render failures can happen. Liability is limited as described in these Terms; we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free maps or exports.

01Agreement to the Terms

By accessing or using 3dmaps.app (the editor, dashboard, marketing site, APIs we expose, and export pipeline), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service is operated by DTLA Professional Services, LLC (“we”, “us”), 770 S Grand Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90017. See About us for entity context.

02Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) and able to form a binding contract. If you use 3dmaps.app for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

03Accounts & security

Some features require an account (email/password or Google sign-in). You are responsible for safeguarding credentials and for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access through the contact form (Security topic).

04License to use the service

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use 3dmaps.app for lawful creative and business storytelling. We (and our licensors) retain all rights to the software, branding, UI, documentation, and underlying systems.

“3dmaps”, “3dmaps.app”, and related marks are identifiers of DTLA Professional Services, LLC. You may not imply sponsorship or endorsement without written permission.

05Your content & our license

You keep ownership of project inputs you create (names, annotations, drawings, badges you upload or configure, and exported videos), excluding third-party map tiles, boundary datasets, fonts, and our product UI.

You grant us a worldwide license to host, process, transmit, and render your content solely to operate and improve the service (including backups and abuse prevention). We do not claim ownership of your finished videos.

You represent that you have rights to the content you submit and that it does not violate law or third-party rights.

06Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Break the law or promote illegal activity
  • Infringe intellectual property or privacy rights
  • Probe, scan, or attack the service or related infrastructure
  • Circumvent rate limits, auth, or billing controls
  • Abuse Cloud Run / render capacity (spam jobs, crypto mining, etc.)
  • Misrepresent geography in a knowingly deceptive way for fraud
  • Upload malware or attempt to disrupt other users

07Exports, watermarks & availability

Exports are processed through Remotion on Google Cloud. Jobs may queue, fail, or time out due to provider limits, configuration, or map-token restrictions. We do not guarantee a specific render time or success rate.

Exports may include a 3dmaps.app watermark. Free-tier exports always include it. Paid memberships may turn it off in the editor. Removing or obscuring required branding on the free tier is not permitted.

08Third-party services

The product depends on providers such as Mapbox (maps/geocoding), Google Firebase, Google Analytics, and Google Cloud. Your use of those layers is also subject to their terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, or token allowlists that block map tiles.

09Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Map boundaries, labels, and satellite imagery may contain inaccuracies; do not rely on 3dmaps.app as a sole source for navigation, legal borders, or emergency decisions.

10Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DTLA PROFESSIONAL SERVICES, LLC AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR RENDER FAILURES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed.

11Suspension & termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for the platform, or if we discontinue the product. Provisions that should survive (IP, disclaimers, liability limits, governing law) will survive termination.

12Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Los Angeles County, California will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where prohibited by consumer-protection law in your place of residence.

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
